what a month can look like
What your monthly hours can go toward
Whatever matters most that month. Priorities shift, and the hours shift with them.
Reports and dashboards. Improving recurring reports, cleaning up dashboards, and fixing refresh problems.
Metrics and KPIs. Tracking down why a number looks off, settling definitions, and writing down the logic.
Automation. Cutting manual reporting steps and making refreshes more reliable.
Data sources. Mapping messy sources, recommending cleaner structures, and finding data quality issues.
Documentation. Writing down logic, refresh steps, and processes, plus walkthroughs with your team.
Your stakeholders’ questions. Turning “can we see…” requests into clear priorities, data checks, and next steps.
Is monthly support the right fit?
Yes, if…
- You need BI help every month, not just once.
- Your priorities move between dashboards, metrics, automation, and data questions.
- You want the same senior person who already knows your setup.
- A full-time hire isn’t realistic yet.
Probably not, if…
- You have one defined project. A Dashboard Rescue or Reporting Automation project fits better.
- You need someone embedded all day.
- You need emergency or on-call support.
- You’re looking for open-ended extra staff.
Three plans, sized by hours.
Every plan comes with a set block of hours, a clear rate for extra time, and the option to bank unused hours.
Standard Support
For steady upkeep and light improvements
Dashboard and report cleanup, troubleshooting, light documentation, and help with your team’s reporting questions.
Growth Support
For teams actively improving their reporting
Dashboard improvements, reporting automation, KPI cleanup, and a monthly review of priorities and progress.
Strategic Support
For several initiatives at once
BI roadmap support, automation, documentation, and guidance for your stakeholders. Can be scoped up to $12,000 a month for heavier needs.
Banked hours carry over for one month only, are used before that month’s hours, and can’t exceed half your monthly hours. Extra hours only happen with your approval before the work begins, and they’re billed after it’s done. Software licenses aren’t included. Payment terms are Net 15 or Net 30, set in the agreement. Pricing may change if scope, availability, or technical complexity changes.
Early client offer: 10% off your first three months
Sign a three-month agreement for any plan by December 31, 2026 (Eastern time), and your first three monthly fees are 10% lower. You get the same hours and the same support. Standard pricing starts in month four. The offer doesn’t apply to extra hours, third-party software, or separately scoped projects, and depends on availability. Scope, start date, and pricing are confirmed in writing before work begins.
Things people ask first
What is fractional BI support?
Ongoing, part-time access to a senior BI person. It’s for teams that need regular reporting and dashboard help but aren’t ready for a full-time hire.
How is it different from hiring someone full-time?
A full-time hire makes sense for a steady, permanent workload. Monthly support gives you senior help in a set number of hours, focused on your top priorities, for less than the cost of one full-time hire.
Which plan should we start with?
Most teams can tell from their to-do list. If it’s mostly upkeep, start with Standard. If you’re actively improving things, Growth. We’ll figure it out together on the intro call.
How do we decide what you work on?
We agree on priorities and deadlines up front and revisit them at regular check-ins. On Growth and Strategic plans, there’s a monthly review of priorities and progress.
What happens to hours we don’t use?
You can bank up to half your monthly hours for the next month. Banked hours are used first and expire after one month.
What if we need more hours one month?
Extra hours are billed at your plan’s rate: $175, $160, or $150 an hour. They only happen with your approval before the work begins, and they’re billed after it’s done.
Is there a minimum commitment?
Standard monthly plans run month to month, with no long-term contract. The early client offer comes with a three-month agreement, since that’s what the discount is for.
Do you offer emergency or on-call support?
No. Monthly support is planned work with agreed priorities, which is what keeps it affordable and focused.
Do you work with nonprofits?
Yes. Nonprofits, mission-driven organizations, and small teams are exactly who this is for. See nonprofit data consulting. Still deciding what to measure? Read the nonprofit KPI guide.
Will you work with our existing tools?
Yes. I start with your current dashboards, spreadsheets, databases, and exports, and improve what you have before adding anything new.
